RAJA KUMARI
CLIENTS: Personal Project / ROLES: Concept, Art Direction, Design, Photography, Copy
Indian-American artist Raja Kumari, referred to by many as the hip-hop queen of India, is a rapper, singer, and songwriter.
The Grammy-nominated musician is known for her unique fusion of western hip-hop with classical Indian music and dance.
This project imagines a self-titled album by Raja Kumari themed after her goal to bridge the gap between the East and West with music.
Architectural elements are used to symbolize the duality of her experience growing up in two different cultures, which became the inspiration for her musical style.
Red and blue are prominent throughout the design, both for their links to Hinduism and their strong association to Raja Kumari’s birthplace- the United States.
